Value Stream Management Business Analyst

Location: Newark, NJ

Are you a dedicated professional passionate about process improvement and helping businesses deliver exceptional value to their customers? We are seeking an experienced Value Stream Management Business Analyst to join a dynamic team supporting a large client headquartered in New Jersey.

This role involves working closely with stakeholders and cross-functional teams to optimize the flow of value across processes, drive operational efficiency, and enhance customer satisfaction.

Position Overview:

The Value Stream Management Business Analyst will analyze, map, and improve business value streams. The successful candidate will drive strategic initiatives, promote continuous improvement, and use data-driven insights to support efforts that streamline workflows, reduce bottlenecks, and deliver transformation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Value Stream Mapping:

  • Document and map current workflows to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.

  • Create comprehensive value stream visuals outlining dependencies and highlighting areas for optimization.

  • Stakeholder Collaboration:

  • Work with business stakeholders to define goals and identify pain points.

  • Organize workshops and meetings with cross-functional teams to drive collaboration.

  • Data Analysis & Reporting:

  • Analyze performance metrics, including lead time, cycle time, throughput, and defect rates.

  • Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs) for process monitoring and decision-making.

  • Process Improvement:

  • Apply Lean, Agile, and Six Sigma methodologies to improve workflows.

  • Organize initiatives to reduce waste, improve operations, and align changes with business goals.

  • Agile Frameworks:

  • Support Agile frameworks such as Scrum or SAFe in process improvement initiatives.

  • Partner with team roles like Scrum Masters and Product Owners to facilitate smooth project execution.

  • Continuous Improvement:

  • Encourage a culture of continuous improvement.

  • Provide actionable recommendations to align team performance with customer needs.

    Requirements

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.

  • 3+ years of business analysis experience with a focus on process improvement or Agile methodologies.

  • Familiarity with value stream mapping, Agile frameworks (e.g., Scrum, SAFe), and data analysis techniques.

  • Proficiency with tools like Jira, Confluence, and Microsoft Visio.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration.

  • Proven skills in analyzing data and driving data-informed decisions.

  • Passion for continuous improvement in fast-paced environments.

Preferred:

  • Certifications like Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), SAFe Agilist, or Lean Six Sigma Green Belt/Black Belt certification.

  • Experience working in dynamic environments with competing priorities.

Location Requirements:

This position is located in Newark, NJ, and requires candidates to reside within a commutable distance. Team members typically work in a hybrid work environment.
