JPMorgan Chase Reference Data Product Manager, Digital & Platform Services in Newark, Delaware

The Reference Data Product Manager will partner with the technology teams and multiple businesses across the firm to analyze various use cases and recommend enterprise business solutions that align with the Reference Data Product Strategy and industry best practices. This role will contribute to laying the foundation of the future state reference data product capabilities.

A product manager identifies the customer need and the larger business objectives that a product or feature will fulfill, articulates what success looks like for a product, and rallies a team to turn that vision into a reality. A product manager will be responsible for the strategy, roadmap, and feature definition of a product.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Gain a deep understanding of customer experience, identify and fill product gaps and generate new ideas, improve customer experience and drive growth

  • Create buy-in for the product vision both internally and with key Line of Business & Functional partners

  • Translate product strategy into detailed requirements and prototypes

  • Function as an Independent 'Product Owner' who owns deliverables from the BOW (Book of Work) to analyze Requirements, raise clarifications with Stakeholders and create Atomic JIRAs for technology to deliver based on product vision and synergies.

  • Function as a Stakeholder-facing Product Owner who can synthesize the requirements, drive the analysis with appropriate questions supported by workflow documents, scenario analysis and wireframes (as needed).

  • Defines the product backlog, create actionable user stories, prioritize stories based on epics, manage product backlog, and ensure development focuses on JIRAs with maximum value that are aligned with product strategy

  • Scope and prioritize activities based on business and customer impact

  • Work closely with engineering teams to deliver with quick time-to-market and optimal resources

  • Act as a product evangelist to build awareness and understanding

  • Manage a team within reference data strategy team, comprised of both onshore and offshore resources

Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills:

  • Proven work experience in product management or as an associate product manager

  • Proven track record of managing all aspects of a successful product throughout its lifecycle

  • The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Information Systems with 5+ years' experience as a technical product manager or functional product mgmt. preferred

  • Advanced experience using agile tools, JIRA, JIRA Portfolio, Confluence, etc

  • Requires strong SQL development skills - writing complex queries and stored procedures.

  • Solid technical background with understanding and/or hands-on experience in software development

  • Strong problem solving skills and willingness to roll up one's sleeves to get the job

  • Skilled at working effectively with cross functional teams in a matrix organization

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Self-starter, passionate about making a difference.
