Manufacturing Operator I - Rotating Shift - Newark, DE

You Will Spend Your Time...

  • Operate all equipment and perform all duties in accordance with current SOP and cGMP requirements.

  • Maintain all necessary supplies for the packaging area.

  • Accurately record and maintain all necessary records in accordance with current SOPs.

  • Move finished product from the packaging areas to the designated storage area.

  • Reprocess any material as directed by a supervisor.

  • Support efforts within the packaging areas as necessary to maintain proper production flow.

  • Change product sifter screens as directed in accordance with current SOPs.

  • Change bag house bags and clean storage bins as directed by supervision.

  • Maintain and empty dust collection and vacuum cleaning units.

  • Assist in all areas of plant when needed (sifter cloth change, sifter change, purge, clean, etc.)

  • Perform all bar-coding where applicable per SOP.

  • Responsible for cleanliness and housekeeping in the packaging, sifting, recycle, and other areas as directed by supervision.

  • Support the plant's safety, health & environmental programs and industrial hygiene programs.

  • Commit to safe work practices.

  • Assure compliance with Responsible Care® and Product Stewardship efforts.

  • Participate in safety programs and training and drills to increase safety self-awareness.

Job Requirements

Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED

  • Basic math skills

  • Basic computer skills

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong interpersonal skills

  • Willing and able to follow various procedures throughout the site in accordance with current SOP and cGMP requirements

  • Willing and able to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in different plant areas as required

  • Willing and able to work a 12-hour rotating shift

  • Willing and able to work overtime as needed

  • The following are preferred:

  • Technical degree in Manufacturing or Process Technology

  • Experience in an industrial or chemical plant environment

  • Experience with industrial plant safety rules including LOTO, PPE, permitting, confined space, etc.

  • Previous experience in the food and/or pharmaceutical industries

  • Experience operating a powered industrial truck (i.e. forklift)

While we are interested in all qualified candidates with the potential to work in the United States, we are not able to sponsor visas. Additionally, to qualify for this position, you must be proficient in English, including reading, writing, and verbal communication.

The Pharma Solutions business will be taking on its next chapter of growth as a trusted partner for the pharmaceutical industry with the announcement to sell Pharma Solutions to Roquette. This move will position Pharma Solutions to expand its industry leadership through continued investment in innovation to meet the evolving needs of pharmaceutical manufacturers and developers worldwide. The sale is presently expected to close in the first half of 2025, pending regulatory approvals and other closing conditions. The Pharma Solutions business unit will remain a part of IFF until close and, at such time, it will transition to Roquette.
