Staff Data Engineer (Integral Ad Science, Inc.)(New York, NY).Actively participate in the software cycle, including development, code reviews, testing, deployment, and documentation. Provide mentorship to the team. Collaborate closely with the Product team and various stakeholders. Understand product requirements and gather business and technical needs from broadcaster clients. Ensure developer-ready user stories. Investigate and devise solutions, including API development, and address queries from both product and engineering teams. Guide Junior Engineers throughout the software development lifecycle, sharing a comprehensive understanding of company and industry methodologies, policies, standards, and controls. Perform architecting, designing, constructing, and integrating multiple applications within the IAS Platform, with a focus on delivering software value. Other key responsibilities include implementing automated validation and profiling capabilities, designing and implementing SQL and NoSQL database solutions, and monitoring overall system performance through testing, troubleshooting, and integration of new features. Develop applications using appropriate data serialization frameworks, supporting systems integration and user acceptance testing, identifying team gaps for increased productivity, conducting code reviews, and sharing technical insights with the team and wider software engineering community. Manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and describe infrastructure in code using technologies like Terraform AWS and CDK.Requires a Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology, or other closely related field and 5 years of experience in a software systems development role. Experience must include the following: Monitoring ongoing project installations and updating knowledge management portals for new functionalities. Partnering with Product Teams in business discussions to grasp functional requirements and providing ongoing project support. Executing the complete software lifecycle, encompassing hands-on development, code reviews, testing, deployment, and documentation for ETLs and RESTful APIs. Developing applications from scratch using a modern technology stack, such as Scala, Spark, and NoSQL. Designing ETL workflows and optimized Spark/Hive ETLs.
