Amazon Software Development Engineer II in New York, New York

Description

Amazon Advertising’s Content and Pitches 2.0 (CP2) team is looking for a motivated and experienced software development engineers to develop a platform which will change the way we manage, secure and distributes advertising content and insights with our customers. The CP2 team’s vision is to build products and services to help advertisers achieve their business objectives using relevant insights about their target customers. We support Ads Sales teams in delivering advertising strategy recommendations for these sales opportunities in the form of engaging narratives backed with impactful insights that deliver high ROI for advertisers and improved sales outcomes for the Ads business.

Key job responsibilities

As an engineer on the team, you will be responsible for leading the architecture, design, development, and launch of core product features. You will:

  • Design, implement, test, deploy and maintain innovative software solutions

  • Use software engineering best practices to ensure a high standard of quality for all of the team deliverables

  • Leverage a wide range of AWS technologies to build full-stack web applications, distributed systems, and automation workflows

  • Mentor & grow engineers across the team, leading by example and insisting on high standards

  • Work in an agile, startup-like development environment, where you are always working on the most important stuff.

The ideal candidate is passionate about new opportunities and has a demonstrable track record of success in delivering new features and products. A commitment to team work, hustle, and strong communication skills (to both product and technical partners) is required. You will be responsible for every aspect of the software development cycle, including software architectural design, data integration from various internal systems, building back-end services for data recommendations, development of highly interactive web applications, software deployment using continuous integration tools, and monitoring to ensure high availability.

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of non-internship professional front end, web or mobile software development using JavaScript, HTML and CSS experience

  • Experience in computer science fundamentals (object-oriented design, data structures, algorithm design, problem solving and complexity analysis)

  • Experience building scalable, distributed, front-end experiences

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of agile software development methodology experience

  • Experience in agile software development methodology

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $115,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
