Amazon Software Development Engineer, Fraud Reduction Enforcement Systems and Controls in Advertising (FRESCA) in New York, New York

Description

Amazon is investing heavily in building a world class advertising business and we work to improve Amazon performance for brand advertisers by providing them with actionable retail+ads analytics. We also deliver retail+ads information services enabling Amazon partner teams to provide brands with automated campaign management experiences.

You will be working on building out our Fraud Detection system. You will be become an expert in AWS Cloud and Big Data technologies to coming up with innovative solutions to restrict abusive actors, while maintaining friction-free advertising for good customers.

You will build Tier-1 services to handle millions of requests per day, while maintaining response latencies in the milliseconds and meeting strict SLA requirements (high operational standards). You will develop distributed solutions with service oriented architecture to build high performance platforms to service world's largest selection to millions of customers. Our systems and algorithms operate on massive datasets using distributed frameworks. In this role you will be design new and rebuild existing solutions for the fast growing scale of the next generation of advertising services. You will have the opportunity to work with Principal engineers and to mentor and grow junior engineers.

About the team

Amazon Ads operates at the intersection of eCommerce and advertising, offering a rich array of digital advertising solutions to help our customers find and discover anything they want to buy. The Advertising Fraud and Abuse program’s mission is to defend against bad actors who intend to cause advertisers or Amazon financial or reputational harm. We work to deliver across three strategic pillars: 1) Prevention — proactive controls to prevent bad actors from entering our Advertising platforms; 2) Mitigation — model and systems detection and ongoing monitoring to detect fraudulent or abusive behaviors, detection and enforcement.

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience

  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience

  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
