Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Senior Research Technician. In this role, the successful candidate OLE! is a new and vibrant research group focused on creating novel imaging agents and therapies for osteoarthritis. We utilize unconventional approaches to understand the pathological changes that lead to knee OA. Our goal is to develop technology for in-vivo detection of these changes, allowing for earlier intervention and treatment. This role offers the opportunity to be part of a collaborative and innovative team, with the potential to make a significant impact on the field. Our lab receives funding from the NIH and the Department of Radiology, and we are part of the Tech4Health Institute, a state-of-the-art bioengineering center with a collaborative team of engineers and scientists.

Job Responsibilities:

    • Conduct research on biomedical imaging for musculoskeletal diseases.
    • Design and perform experimets to validate new molecular biomarkers for the musculosketal system.
    • Assist with preparation, storage and analysis of biological samples from humans and animals.
    • Collaborate with researchers to understand experimental needs.
    • Manage laboratory operations and ensure adherence to safety protocols.
    • Care for and handle animal models.
    • Maintain accurate records and keep the lab well-equipped.
    • Stay up-to-date on the latest scientific advancement.

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a Associate's degree plus one year related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Computer literate with good interpersonal, writing and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Biomedicine, or a related field.
Proven experience as a laboratory technician.
Strong knowledge of current trends in biochemistry, animal models, and musculoskeletal tissue culture.
Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
Experience handling animal models and performing related procedures.
Expertise in cell culture and immunological assays.
Proficiency in techniques like qPCR, Western Blot, and flow cytometry.
Experience with microscopy and immunofluorescence imaging.
Solid foundation in biochemistry and biology.
The ability to work independently and think critically.
Comfort handling hazardous materials.
In-depth understanding of QHSE management systems and laboratory best practices.
A keen eye for detail and strong analytical skills.
Excellent communication skills written and verbal.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $53,200.00- $66,780.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
