Boston Consulting Group Project Leader - Consumer Products/Fashion in New York, New York

Project Leader - Consumer Products/Fashion (The Boston Consulting Group, Inc. - New York, NY) - Manage the design and development of long-term pricing, product differentiation, and operational efficiency strategies for clients within the consumer and fashion sectors in order to optimize revenue growth and organizational capability. Specific duties include: perform qualitative and quantitative data analysis to research and assess marketing opportunities, industry regulation, and manufacturing requirements for Consumer and Fashion clients; assess how companies are positioned relative to their competitors and how they differentiate themselves to gain sustainable competitive advantage; analyze consumer behavior and needs to optimize product offering and product portfolio while maximizing growth and returns; provide recommendations to consumer and fashion sector clients including go-to-market strategies to penetrate new markets, revenue growth strategies, pricing strategies, product innovation, and digital strategies; identify synergies and cost optimization opportunities for Consumer and Fashion clients, focused on sourcing and supply chain synergies/financial improvements, operating and organizational model re-designs, and top and bottom line improvement; oversee and direct consultants and junior professional staff; oversee project planning and preparation of outputs; present findings to senior client management; and oversee business development and client relationships. Requires a Bachelor's degree in Business, Innovation Management, Consumer Science, or related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent) plus three (3) years of experience as a management consultant or business analyst, which must include at least one (1) year of experience providing business strategy recommendations focusing on operational efficiency and revenue growth to companies in the consumer products/ fashion sectors. Specific skills/other requirements (quantitative experience requirement is not applicable to section) - must possess the following: reviewing data sources related to consumer behavior including purchase data and consumer trends, and analyzing trend and pricing dynamics; creating and analyzing large-scale consumer surveys to assess brand awareness and brand equity performance relative to peers for Consumer and Fashion clients; building bottom-up market models utilizing digital tools including Excel, Alteryx, and Tableau and sharing findings with Consumer and Fashion industry clients; preparing presentations or facilitations, preparing reports, and communicating with Consumer and Fashion industry clients; researching and analyzing fashion trends, consumer behavior, external dynamics, supply chain, retail strategies, and eCommerce; applying advanced economic and financial analysis theories including competitive cost and decision analysis, capabilities assessment, portfolio review based on financial reports, and experience and scale curve analysis; conducting advanced analysis of scale economies, seasonal effects on financial forecasts, impact of uncertainties on business outcomes, and corporate financing policies; and managing individuals, teams and processes. Partial telecommute benefit available. Must report to and reside within commutable distance of the listed BCG office. Domestic/international travel required (up to 80%) based on client/company need.
