Figma is growing our team of passionate people on a mission to make design accessible to all. Born on the Web, Figma helps entire product teams brainstorm, design and build better products - from start to finish. Whether it's consolidating tools, simplifying workflows, or collaborating across teams and time zones, Figma makes the design process faster, more efficient, and fun while keeping everyone on the same page. From great products to long-lasting companies, we believe that nothing great is made alone-comemake with us!

Bringing our users together at events is core to Figma's marketing strategy. We do this through educational livestreams, product office hours, community events, and more! The biggest event of the year is our global user conference Config.

As an events manager, you will support a team to bring all of these events to the next level - planning and driving the strategy to scale our programs while maintaining and growing the engagement and connection to our community that makes these events so special.

As an Events Manager on our Experiential Marketing team, you'll own and drive experiential event strategy to bring brand awareness to Figma and our suite of products. You'll partner closely with cross-functional teams (like Brand and Partnerships) to bring the marketing team's goals and objectives to life through impactful events centered around our community. Your focus will be on producing both in-person and virtual events, including Config!

This is a full time role that can be held from one of our US hubs or remotely in the United States.

What you'll do at Figma:
  • Help guide the (in person & virtual) events team strategy, focusing on: educational livestreams, global user conferences and brand marketing initiatives.
  • Be a core part of the planning and execution of Figma's annual user conferences.
  • Develop event goals and work cross-functionally to track metrics that are essential to the success of all Figma events, such as: promotion tactics, leads, and opportunities created.
  • Own multiple work streams for our global user conference, Config, including Sponsorships and 30,000+ square foot space of activations.
  • Own agency relationships for event production and execution.
  • Build and track event budget and expenses. Partner with the legal and finance teams to track contracts and expenses.
  • Foster cross-functional communications across the Marketing organization to ensure alignment, while identifying new opportunities for the experiential marketing team
  • Plan events from start to finish, including leading cross-functional kickoffs, establishing meeting cadences, liaising with external partners and lead on-site logistics and schedule post-event retros.
Some projects you could work on:
  • Config, our annual conference!
  • Developer events
  • Brand activations
We'd love to hear from you if you have:
  • 7+ years of experience in event marketing including: producing conferences of various sizes (both large and small scale), sponsorship management, and brand activations
  • Experience with owning all aspects of planning events big and small, such as conferences, sponsorships, brand activations, and proprietary events.
  • A community oriented mentality!
  • Experience developing experiential marketing strategy. You're comfortable defining success metrics for an event, sharing out results and using your findings to inform future planning.
  • Strong project management and event production skills. You like managing multiple work streams simultaneously, sweat the small stuff and leave no detail untouched.
  • You're comfortable building on existing foundations and implementing processes across multiple work streams and teams.
  • You are an effective relationship builder and you love collaborating with internal and external partners. You can build relationships quickly and effectively and make sure to nurture them along the way.
  • Experience working with event production agencies and are comfortable managing them.
  • Has experience managing project budgets up to $2M.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Travel required up to 25% of the year.
While it's not required, it's an added plus if you also have:
