Controllers and Aspiring Controllers! Our client is a global leader in Food and Beverage Import/Export Distribution and is looking for a Controller to join their team. Responsibilities
Set the strategy and provide direction for accounting activities including accounts payable, cash application, credit & collections, fixed assets, payroll, revenue accounting, shipboard financial operations, shoreside hotel and marine accounting, corporate accounting, and general ledger maintenance.
Collaborate with the AVP of Accounting to ensure timely and accurate monthly financial closes of the general ledger.
Oversee the timely dissemination of financial information to relevant stakeholders.
Serve as a key advisor to the CFO, providing insights and recommendations on financial matters.
Implement and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Lead and develop a high-performing accounting team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Drive process improvements and automation initiatives to enhance efficiency and effectiveness within the accounting function.
Liaise with internal and external auditors to facilitate audits and address any audit findings or recommendations.
Stay abreast of accounting standards, regulations, and best practices, and ensure compliance with evolving requirements.
