Overview
In this role, the Mechanical Consultant will work with a team of engineers who are designing mechanical systems for commercial, institutional, industrial, and multi-unit residential facilities.
Essential Job Functions
- Perform existing conditions as-built documentation of mechanical system including HVAC, Plumbing, and Fire Protection Systems.
- AutoCAD MEP; REVIT drawing of mechanical system including HVAC, Plumbing, and Fire Protection Systems.
- Lead design teams with Mechanical Systems design/layout tasks for commercial and residential projects.
- Coordination with other Engineering Team Members.
- Perform final inspections on installations.
- Heating and cooling load calculations.
- Mechanical equipment sizing and selection.
Required Education and Certifications
- 4-8 years' experience with mechanical systems design/installation
- Bachelor's degree or higher in mechanical engineering or a related field.
- E.I.T or P.E. preferred.
Required Skills and Abilities
- Documented experience with Mechanical and Plumbing design, fire suppression systems, fuel distribution, residential and commercial HVAC principles, energy code compliance, and building controls systems.
- Experience with Microsoft Office of products including Excel, Word, Teams, and Outlook.
- Effective communication skills and comfort interacting with diverse teams.
- Keen attention to detail.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, as well as the ability to spatially recognize 3D systems transferred to a 2D set of documents (plans).
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines while also balancing the needs of multiple projects.
- Self-starting work ethic to sustain an effective work environment.
The Salary Range for this position is $100,000.00 - $130,000.00 and is dependent on education, experience, location and certifications/licensure.
