Business Development and New Ventures Associate. Gregory R. Miller & Company, LLC is hiring in New York, NY. Will be primarily responsible for identifying areas of expansion and growth for the company. The role includes identifying opportunities to capitalize on new technologies such as artificial intelligence, researching new geographies for local publishing, and pursuing potential acquisition targets to facilitate strategic alternatives. Tasks include: Assessment of opportunities to deploy new technologies, including generative AI, to generate new revenues and products; Assessment of opportunities to expand into new geographies, including Asia and Europe; Assessment, valuation, and potential negotiation of acquisition opportunities, including other publishers and publishing-related technology and services businesses; Analysis of potential growth opportunities that require investments of additional capital; Analysis of the company’s financial profile and business model to determine areas for improvement; Assistance in the preparation of the annual budget; Assistance in the preparation of budgets for major individual publishing projects; Preparation of a five-year strategic plan and related financial models; Ongoing assessment of relevant industry trends; Establishment of partnerships with third parties, including publishers, distributors, contemporary art galleries, museums, foundations and other institutions. Requirements: Undergraduate degree in computer science or mathematics or statistics or business/finance with a focus in data analytics. A minimum of 2 years of professional experience either in the publishing industry, in finance, or in the consulting industry. Knowledge of artificial intelligence techniques, including deep learning and neural networks, implementing artificial intelligence techniques, including in Python or R, international mergers and acquisitions, including due diligence, financial modeling and valuation, including discounted cash flow analysis, IRR analysis, leveraged buyout analysis and accounting fundamentals.
