Scholastic Associate Marketing Manager in New York, New York

Job Description:

THE OPPORTUNITY

Scholastic is looking for a creative, smart, and motivated Associate Marketing Manager to create and execute plans that promote our books to their best advantage! This role focuses on Middle Grade campaigns including bestselling authors, novels, and series including Wings of Fire, Alan Gratz, Pam Muñoz Ryan, Claribel Ortega, and Jennifer Nielsen. This Associate Marketing Manager will focus on marketing that targets parents and kids and works closely with our sales team and retailers. This position will report to the Senior Marketing Director

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage campaigns for bestsellers including Wings of Fire, Whatever After, Alan Gratz, Claribel Ortega, Kelly Yang, Jennifer Nielsen, and Pam Muñoz Ryan.

  • Collaborate with brainstorming, writing, and executing marketing plans for middle grade titles and series.

  • Project manage the creation of promotional materials, advertisements, videos, social media, websites, and all marketing assets related to assigned titles.

  • Work closely with department assistant on the creation of middle grade marketing materials, mailings, and other title specific assets.

  • Strategize and follow-up on online presence for key titles, including websites and social media campaigns.

  • Write copy for creative jobs including advertisements, social media, and website content.

  • Communicate marketing updates to sales, editorial, cross-channel partners, agents, and authors as needed.

  • Maintain awareness of the book market and suggest new and innovative ways to market titles to kids, parents, and booksellers.

Qualifications

HOW YOU CAN FIT (Qualifications)

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

3-5 years of marketing experience preferred

College degree

Experience in publishing field and/or marketing a plus

Experience developing social media and digital content

Knowledge of various computer systems: Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint

Proactive and accountable

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Detail oriented

Good, consistent follow-through
