Assist Vice President, Asset Management Operations
Reporting to the Senior Vice President, Asset Management, the Assist Vice President, Asset Management Operations is a strategic advisor to the Senior Vice President and a project manager on interdepartmental projects led by Asset Management. The Assistant Vice President plays a vital role in the daily operations of Asset Management as well as the development and implementation of improvements designed to align with Breaking Ground’s operational priorities and goals.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Serve as a strategic analyst within Asset Management and advisor to the Senior Vice President, providing insights, actionable solutions, and operational support
Facilitate communication between the Senior Vice President and all Asset Management departments, ensuring alignment of objectives and initiatives
Support the execution of Asset Management-related tasks in support of departmental priorities and organization-wide business plans and special projects, ensuring all assignments are completed on schedule and meet quality standards
Prepare operational data analysis, briefs, and presentations to support departmental status reports
Analyze operational and financial data, provide reports and recommendations
Support the organization’s mandate to maximize subsidy rent payments by coordinating with internal stakeholders and reviewing submissions
Provide expertise and support to users of key software systems (i.e. RealPage and Maintenance Connection) to enhance productivity and functionality
Represent the Senior Vice President in meetings and discussions when necessary
Monitor industry trends and provide insights on potential impacts to the asset portfolio
Perform other duties as assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration , Finance, or related field or equivalent work experience required. Master’s degree preferred
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a leadership role within asset management, property management, housing development/redevelopment or related industry
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in affordable or supportive housing. LIHTC expertise required
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions
Advanced proficiency with Excel or related quantitative analysis tools required
Experience in collecting, cleaning, and interpreting data from internal and public databases required
Proficiency in financial modeling and analysis
Strong leadership and project management skills
Project management certification or experience or education related to real estate/affordable housing finance, housing development/redevelopment projects, and land use a plus
Expertise with property and asset management software systems (IE. RealPage, Maintenance Connection)
Ability to manage and monitor vendors used to support property and asset management operations. Experience with contract management and analysis preferred
Demonstrated ability to breakdown technical and complex topics for a variety of audiences in written and verbal form
Experience juggling multiple work streams concurrently, managing complex and competing priorities, and executing ambitious goals effectively
Demonstrated ability to build effective relationships with diverse stakeholders, including senior leadership, colleagues, vendors, and other external stakeholders
Ability to travel, as needed, to sites throughout the metro NY area
