Google GPS Wireless System Engineer in New Taipei City, Taiwan

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

  • 2 years of experience with wireless technologies with Global Navigation Satellite System/Global Positioning System (GNSS/GPS) technologies.

  • Experience in data processing, analysis and visualization.

  • Experience in collaboration with third party vendors.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Science or PhD in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering.

  • Experience with consumer electronics productization from conception to mass productions.

  • Experiences of lab and field testing, or coding with Python, Shell, Batch or SQL.

  • Knowledge of GPS and GNSS technologies(e.g, Galileo, Glonass, Beidou, Navic, Qzss).

  • Knowledge of GNSS antenna, radio hardware and digital signal processing on measurement engine, and RF impairments (e.g., AGC, Phase Noise, Short-term Frequency stability, I/Q imbalance), and RF interference impacts on GNSS/GPS performances.

  • Excellent communication skills.

In this role, you will be responsible for positioning performance by combining Global Navigation Satellite System/Global Positioning System (GNSS/GPS), cellular, WiFi and sensor information, with minimum power consumptions.Google's mission is to organize the world's information and make it universally accessible and useful. We research, design, and develop new technologies and hardware to make our user's interaction with computing faster, seamless, and more powerful.   • Define the GNSS/GPS system architecture and specifications from product requirements for mobile and wearable devices.

  • Explore, coordinate and manage GNSS/GPS chipset/solution vendors, to ensure compliance with product technology roadmap and requirements.

  • Collaborate with System on a chip (SOC), Radio-Frequency (RF), antenna, modem/connectivity software, and product Electrical Engineering/power teams to specify mobile/wearable platform and wireless system architecture, interfaces, and performance goals.

  • Collaborate with GPS/modem firmware, Android location and Context Hub Runtime Environment (CHRE) framework teams to deliver positioning/navigation user experience with hardware/software integration.

  • Work with cross-functional teams to root-cause and solve product-level RF coexistence and desense issues.
