Google Firmware Engineering Manager in New Taipei City, Taiwan

Minimum qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
8 years of experience in embedded systems and devices software industry, and in technical leadership, people management, leading development, testing of mobile phones, or modem.
Experience in one or more general purpose programming languages (e.g., C/C++, Java, Python).
Preferred qualifications:
Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related fields.
8 years of experience in the cellular industry managing or leading development or testing of mobile phones and modem.
Experience in using test equipment (e.g., Keysight UXM, Amarisoft, or R&S CMW/CMX) to perform modem functional and performance testing, test case design, and test automation.
Knowledge in 3GPP protocols (NR, LTE) and cellular system operation.
Knowledge in performing modem testing and debugging modem issues.
Excellent programming skill in Python or Java.
In the Pixel Modem Testing and Automation team, our mission is to ensure smooth Pixel product certification and prevent modem bugs from escaping to the field and Pixel users. Develop test cases and test automation mechanisms, utilizing both live networks and test equipment, to effectively verify Pixel modem software and detect Pixel modem issues in labs.
Evaluate new features of each Pixel project. Work with cross-functional teams to design test plans and verify new features of all modem functions including RF, layer 1, AS, NAS, IMS, etc.
Create technologies and frameworks to ensure efficient and timely test execution and delivery of reliable test results.
Develop and manage modem sanity tests to ensure proper operation of modem functions and modem performance.
Provide test hosting service for the organization and strive to improve the efficiency and efficacy of managed test cases.
