Atlantic Health System Patient Care Technician I in New Providence, New Jersey
Responsible for assisting doctors in ensuring that the needs of each patient are met. Daily tasks might include things like rooming, clinic facilitation, cleaning rooms, authorizations, fitting durable medical equipment, executing doctor orders, answering patient phone calls and questions, taking vitals.
Principal Accountabilities:
Obtains and records vital signs, weights, and heights
Assists patients with mobility: ambulation, transfer, discharges and ROM activities
Performs triage in accordance with provider protocols, answer patient questions and phone calls
Manage clinic flow and keep provider on time
Fit patients with durable medical equipment
Observes and reports changes in patients' condition to the provider
Maintains equipment and inventory
Other related duties and cross coverage as assigned.
Required:
HS Diploma or equivalent
Bilingual English/Spanish required for this clinic
Preferred:
Strong interpersonal communication skills, both verbal and written
Patient, compassionate nature
Ability to operate as part of a team, alongside physicians/physician assistants/medical office assistants/surgical schedulers/and XR technicians
Proficiency in computer-based data management programs and information systems
Ability to work in a fast-paced clinic
EMT certification and/or nursing assistant certification
