Job Description: Senior HCLS Principle Account Manager in Life Sciences (BioPharma/BioTech)

The AGS HCLS BIO Sales team, focusing on the biopharma and biotech industry, is dedicated to guiding medium to large-scale enterprises through a seamless and innovative transition to cloud technology to forge business relationships founded on value and trust. As a Sr. HCLS Principle Account Manager, the candidate will be instrumental in driving digital transformation by engaging meaningfully with various stakeholders, from C-level executives to developers, across the customer's businesses. This individual will represent AWS’ entire product and service portfolio across multiple strategic accounts in the Enterprise customer segment, ensuring that customers benefit from the fastest pace of innovation, the broadest and deepest functionality, the most secure computing environment, and the most proven operational expertise. You will be responsible for driving revenue growth, developing and managing strategic customer relationships, and promoting our cutting-edge solutions to the life sciences industry.

Responsibilities:

Sales and Revenue Generation:

Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy to achieve and exceed revenue targets for the assigned territory or customer base.

Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the BioPharma and BioTech sectors, building a robust pipeline of qualified leads.

Conduct consultative sales presentations, demonstrating a deep understanding of our products, solutions, and their applicability to customer needs.

Negotiate and close deals effectively, ensuring mutually beneficial agreements and long-term customer satisfaction.

Account Management and Customer Relationships:

Manage and grow existing strategic accounts, fostering strong relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as product management, technical support, and customer success, to deliver exceptional customer experiences.

Gather and analyze customer feedback, market trends, and competitive intelligence to identify growth opportunities and inform product development.

Serve as a trusted advisor to customers, providing guidance on industry best practices, regulatory compliance, and process optimization.

Product and Industry Knowledge:

Develop a deep understanding of our product portfolio, including their features, benefits, and applications within the life sciences industry.

Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes that impact our customers' businesses.

Leverage your technical expertise to communicate complex solutions effectively and address customer challenges.

Business Acumen and Strategic Planning:

Contribute to the development of sales strategies, pricing models, and go-to-market plans for new products and services.

Analyze market dynamics, customer segmentation, and competitive landscapes to identify growth opportunities and inform strategic decision-making.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align sales efforts with overall business objectives and drive revenue growth.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as Life Sciences, Biotechnology, or a related discipline.

Proven track record of success in a sales role, with a minimum of 5 years of experience in the BioPharma or BioTech industries.

Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Strong business acumen, with the ability to understand customer needs, industry trends, and financial implications.

Experience in consultative selling, solution-based selling, and building long-term customer relationships.

Proficiency in customer relationship management (CRM) software and related sales tools.

Willingness to travel as required to meet with customers and attend industry events.

Basic Qualifications

  • 7+ years of technology related sales, business development or equivalent experience

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent

  • Experience working with and presenting to C-level executives, IT, and lines of businesses across organizations or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience selling cloud solutions at a software company or equivalent

  • Experience with AWS and technology as a service (IaaS, SaaS, PaaS)

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $153,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $252,900/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. This position is eligible for variable pay via a sales compensation plan. These plans pay according to achievement level against sales targets and/or business objectives. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
