Navistar, Inc. Quality Engineer in New Carlisle, Indiana

Position Overview

Navistar Proving Grounds in New Carlisle Indiana has an exciting opportunity for a Quality Engineer.

The Quality Engineer will report to the Navistar Proving Grounds Technical Program Manager and be responsible for maintaining Quality System documentation, external and internal audit support, and Health and Safety compliance responsibilities.

The successful candidate will also take responsibility to assure all identified training requirements are completed and documented as necessary for all associates on site. The Quality Engineer will also oversee documentation of instrumentation laboratory equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Developing and Maintaining existing Quality system

  • Health and Safety compliance responsibilities

  • Support and perform audits and follow up on action items as required

  • Oversee site-wide training system to assure all required training is completed and documented

  • Assure that all calibration documentation is properly maintained per QS requirements

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • At least 5 years of Engineering, Reliability or Quality Assurance experience

OR

  • Master’s degree

  • At least 3 years of Engineering, Reliability or Quality Assurance experience

OR

  • At least 7 years of Engineering, Reliability or Quality Assurance experience

Additional Requirements

  • Qualified candidates, excluding current Navistar employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. Navistar does not anticipate providing employment related work sponsorship for this position (e.g., H-1B status)

Desired Skills

  • MS Office

  • Knowledgeable with Excel

  • Familiarity with QMS systems such as ISO 9001

  • Health and Safety reporting and compliance activities

  • Management or experience leading small teams or individuals

  • Experience working with calibration services vendors and related quality documentation
