Robert Half Staff Accountant in Nevada, Iowa
Description
We are in search of a Staff Accountant to join our team in Nevada, Iowa. In this position, you will be responsible for a variety of accounting tasks including processing accounts payable and receivable, completing month-end reporting, posting journal entries, and overseeing grain sales contracts and payments. This position plays a vital role in maintaining the financial health and operations of our company.
Responsibilities:
• Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
• Complete month-end reports and post journal entries
• Oversee grain sales contracts and payments, ensuring accuracy and compliance
• Perform calculations, postings, and verification of financial data for use in maintaining accounting records
• Prepare daily ethanol shipment reports, and monitor accounts receivable to ensure timely payments
• Process daily cash receipts and enter new grain and accounts payable vendors into the system
• Monitor and account for all grain contracts and credit sales contracts, ensuring compliance with the Iowa Department of Agriculture
• Prepare and file monthly required grain reports
• Support a no-blame work environment by contributing to problem resolution and learning initiatives
• Cross-train as needed to support all office staff.

Requirements
-Degree in Accounting preferred or years of accounting experience
-Excellent Team Collaboration and communication skills
-Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) processes and procedures
-Hands-on experience with Accounts Receivable (AR) management
-Demonstrated competency in carrying out Bank Reconciliations
-Thorough understanding of General Ledger management
-Skills in recording and managing Journal Entries
-Experience with managing Month End Close procedures
