Summary You will serve as a Metals Inspector (Apprentice) in the Naval Foundry and Propeller Center (NFPC), Quality Assurance Office (QAO) (1420Q) of NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD. Responsibilities You will cast, forge, wield and fabricate processes to ensure flaws are detected and evaluated. You will operate mechanical and electrical equipment and instruments. You will apply oral and written directions and produce sketches and reports displaying tested items and test results. You will utilize detailed specification and technical directions to perform metal fabrication operations. You will be responsible for proper handling of delicate nondestructive test equipment used to perform tests.
