Insight Global Test Engineering Technician in Natick, Massachusetts

Job Description

A global machine vision company is looking for a contract Test Engineering Technician sitting 5 days a week onsite in Natick, MA. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve a diverse range of tasks critical to our testing processes. This includes constructing wire harnesses for test fixtures, assembling mechanical components based on drawings, and troubleshooting electromechanical systems. You'll utilize your proficiency in Excel to track upgrades, participate in daily meetings, and work with both AC and DC circuits. Collaboration is key, as you engage across various teams. In addition to your primary responsibilities, you'll play a crucial role in kitting, inventory management, and supporting purchasing tasks. This position requires a jack-of-all-trades mindset, contributing to various aspects of the testing process, while maintaining a keen eye for detail and a proactive, independent approach.

Skills and Requirements

  • Proficiency in Excel for tracking upgrades, andSolidworks expertise for assembling mechanical components.

  • Ability to read schematics (writing a plus) and troubleshoot electromechanical systems.

  • Experience with AC and low-voltage DC circuits.

  • Background in electronics labs with hands-on work on power tools, hand tools, and soldering (SMT, small board-level soldering is a plus).

  • Proficient in the use of electronic test equipment, including digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, and lux meters. - Hands-on experience with machining and reworking aluminum and metal.

  • Passion projects demonstrating technical skills.

  • Bachelor's or Associate degree in mechanical engineering or electrical engineering preferred. null
