Position Description
The Metro Nashville Public Health Department (MPHD) is seeking a dynamic and experienced Public Health Nurse to lead our Tuberculosis (TB) Elimination Program as our TB Clinic Manager. The Clinic Manager will oversee day to day clinic operations, including ensuring efficient clinic flow, providing support and back up for nurses, technicians, and clerical staff, and monitoring quality controls to ensure metrics are met. The Clinic Manager works closely with the supervisor of the Communicable Disease Investigators (CDI), the clinic physician, and staff nurses. The Clinic Manager serves as a leader in the Tuberculosis Elimination Program, appropriately modeling and promoting the core values of MPHD. This position reports to the TB Program Director. The ideal candidate will have experience and/or knowledge of Tuberculosis disease transmission and control, effective supervisory and training skills, and experience in public health field work and investigations.
The TB Elimination Program works with community agencies, providers, and hospitals to identify persons who have active TB disease. Diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up services are provided to all persons in Davidson County who are diagnosed with active TB disease. Contact investigations are conducted in partnership with patients who have active TB disease to identify, evaluate, and treat individuals who have been exposed to active TB. Directly observed therapy is provided to all persons with TB disease, children, and some high-risk contacts.

Typical Duties
•Directly supervises interdisciplinary staff including nurses, clerical staff, and program specialists.
•Monitors the day to day clinic operations and assists with direct patient care as needed.
•Assures that competent and compassionate care is provided to patients.
•Reviews and audits all clinic charts.
•Participates in MPHD’s monthly charge nurse meetings and shares updates and protocol changes.
•Participates in the TB Elimination Tuesday evening clinic and weekend coverage rotations.
•Serves as a member of the TB Elimination management team.
•Serves as a point person for internal work requests.
•Ensures that appropriate lab services are provided for bacteriological studies, drug level monitoring and related blood test.
•Coordinates quality assurance activities.
•Serves as a liaison between MPHD and target communities (vulnerable communities or communities of focus).
•Collaborates with TB Elimination Program Director to develop, revise and maintain appropriate clinical policies and procedures.
Minimum Qualifications
Master of Science in Nursing from a program accredited by a nationally recognized nursing accreditation organization.
Current Nurse Practitioner Certification from a nationally recognized nursing accreditation organization.
Certificate of Fitness as an Advanced Practice Nurse issued by the State of Tennessee.
Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Tennessee. Applicants holding a Registered Nurse or APRN license from a state that participates in the “Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact” may be hired but must obtain their Tennessee license within thirty (30) days of hire.
Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certification.
Valid class “D” driver’s license, use of personal vehicle, and maintenance of valid personal vehicle insurance as required by Tennessee Law.

Preferred Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
•Three (3) years of experience as a nurse practitioner.
•Knowledge of adult and childhood immunization schedule.
•Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word).
