TOWN OF NASHUA Assistant Public Works Director in NASHUA, Montana
GENERAL PURPOSE
Performs a variety of skilled, technical, and maintenance work in the construction, operation, repair, maintenance, and replacement of Town water/wastewater/solid waste systems and facilities.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED:
Works under the general supervision of the Public Works Director/Mayor.
PERIPHERAL DUTIES
Operates a variety of power construction and maintenance equipment used in the water department.
DESIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience:
- Graduation from high school education or GED equivalent, and
- Seven (7) years of experience relating to the construction, repair, and maintenance of water supply and distribution systems including the operation of related maintenance equipment, or
- Any equivalent combination of education and experience.
Necessary Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Thorough knowledge of equipment, facilities, materials, methods, and procedures used in public water supply and distribution systems; Thorough knowledge of pipe installation, connection and repair.
- Skill in operation of the listed tools and equipment.
- Ability to operate and maintain various equipment used in water maintenance and repair such as backhoe, dump trucks, and jetting machines; Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing; Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, other departments, and the public.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Valid State Commercial Driver's license, or ability to obtain one.
Certification in Operation of water and wastewater by DEQ or obtain certification in the period specified by the Mayor and council.
