Ford Motor Company Door Dynamic Sealing System Engineer in Nanjing, China
The D&R is responsible for the entire component development process from program start through production launch which includes sourcing, design, development, testing and manufacturing. Working with foundation engineering, the D&R will establish system and component functional targets/specifications. Interface with studio will be required to deliver feasible designs, test/validate exterior systems and components, analyze and resolve engineering issues. D&R engineer will work closely with suppliers to ensure delivery of optimized designs for cost, weight, package and overall product function. Manage and control engineering documents and release designs for global manufacturing.
•Coordinating the design and development of Dynamic Sealing System
•Create and modify design of Dynamic Sealing System to meet all engineering requirements, up through and including scheduling and releasing drawings
•Manage supplier to complete program milestone deliverables on-time
•Follow dynamics sealing system through validation and launch including problem solving of technical issues
•Lead sealing system warranty issue resolution and TVM activity
•Proactively improve design cost, quality, function, and weight for responsible models in production
•Execute design in CAD by instruction to CAD modeler or supplier engineer
•Lead and participate in cross functional decision-making teams to drive resolution for dynamic sealing system
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Vehicle Engineering (or related engineering major)
5+ years of related experience on sealing system, completed program experience preferred
General understanding and application of standard engineering theory and principles
Familiar with TPV/EPDM material and manufacture process
Solid knowledge on DFMEA and G8D process preferred
English communication (spoken/written)
Technical presentation skills.
