Purpose of Job:
As ProductChampion,demonstratesexcellentknowledgeandpractice in sales & marketing, and fully exploits the fullmarket potential of AbbottEPD products
To manageandmarketthe company’s entire product range (including all therapy areas) throughthedeveloping,planning,implementing, measuring and being accountableforbrand plans which optimizeprofitability,marketshareandrevenue growth in theshortand long term.
Developsmarketingstrategies,plans,andtacticstogetherwith all other necessary elements and effectivelycommunicatesthese to thesales teams in order to ensureproperimplementationthereof to ourcustomers.
Key Accountabilities, Responsibilities and Deliverables:
Toeffectivelycommunicate/designcommunicationmaterialforproductbenefits to all therelevantstakeholders in the value chain (Private sector + StateSector)
Toprepare andpresentmarketingbusiness plan (brandplans)perpromotedproduct on anannualbasis
Toprovidestrategicproductdirection & tocreateand execute producttacticalplansalignedwithstrategywithinspecifiedtimeframes via thesalesforceand to measurequantitatively and qualitativelythereafter
Maintainkeycustomer andopinionleader contact to maximize Abbott EPD productperformance in the respectivetherapeutic fields and support currentandfutureobjectives
To maintain andimproveproductknowledgeof the salesforceand sales managers and to continuallyupdateknowledgeontheproduct,competitorsandtherapeutic area
Toachieve targets forsales, grow marketshare,profitcontributionandmarketpenetrationfor all assignedproduct(s)(i.e.entire portfolioPLN)
Tomonitorbudgetsforand controlallocatedpromotionalexpenditureforthe product(s)
Ensurepricingforproductswithin your area of responsibilityreceive the priorauthorizationof the Abbott EPD AfricaManagementbeforebeingextended to thecustomers
Manage the new productintroduction(NPI)process and ensureuploadingofrelevantBCFs after obtainingapproval from MarketingManager/General Manager
Planningandimplementation of productlaunches,includingHCPeducation,promotions,stocking,functions, road shows
Tocreate,togetherwithDemandPlanning & Logistics, and be jointlyresponsiblefor accuratemonthlyrollingforecasts(SP&E + Mix - 28 monthforecast)
Responsibleforoverseeingmarketsurveys/researchandsalestrendsreviewswhileeffectivelyutilizingavailablemarketintelligencetools(IMS,Impact RX, InternalAbbottSalesreportsetc.) to identifycustomerbuyingpatterns,salesperformanceandmarket dynamics
Regular fieldworkwithrepresentatives,monitoringmarketing plans (brandplans),identifyingopportunitiesandgainingmarket intelligence
Manage thirdpartyrelationswithrelevantcompanies where Abbottproducts have been out- licensed / third party products have been in-licensed as per specificcontractual obligations
Job Specification:
Qualifications:
- Tertiary qualification in HealthSciences/BusinessSciencesorequivalent.Additionally,Marketingqualification / IMM / Commercialqualificationortraining is anadvantage.
Experience:
7-10 yearsrelevantpharmaceuticalsales & brandmanagementexperience
Handling multiplebrands across therapy areas andcross-geographyexposurewill be anaddedadvantage
