Consumers Energy Sr Program Engineer in MULTIPLE LOCATIONS, Michigan

Location:
This position is preferred assigned to Parnall Office located in Jackson, MI but other locations may be considered as well. The selected candidate must be within a commutable distance from any of the locations or willing to relocate (relocation package is available for those that qualify).
We are looking for: Sr Program Engineer (Senior Project Engineer)
The Senior Program Engineer is responsible for the engineering and technical disciplines needed to complete a project. The Senior Program Engineer works to plan projects, establish project criteria, coordinate project reviews, and ensure the proper implementation of project elements. They will schedule, plan, forecast, resource and manage all the technical activities aiming at assuring project accuracy and quality from conception to completion.
This position is functionally for a Sr Project Engineer who works in a team setting providing support to project managers and leading engineering tasks/deliverables related to the planning, design, quality, testing, and execution of complex and strategic projects for the Electric Distribution business area. The Project Engineer will be supporting several Economic Development projects and other major projects for Electric Distribution, including major substation rebuilds.
The Project Engineer ensures that technical project work scope is properly coordinated between internal and external engineers of record, vendors, fabricators, and contractors to meet project requirements. The Project Engineer will have multiple assignments (ranging from moderate to complex assignments) requiring application of standard techniques, theory, procedures, and criteria in carrying out a sequence of related engineering tasks.

Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program with four (4) or more years of experienceserving as a program/project engineer on complex projects as well as experience coordinating internal and external engineering disciplines
[ OR] Bachelor’s degree in engineering from a non-ABET accredited program along with a Professional Engineering license (PE) with four (4) or more years of experienceserving as a program/project engineer on complex projects as well as experience coordinating internal and external engineering disciplines
Understanding and experience in contract management
Experience in the management of engineering contracts and engineering deliverables
Preferred:
Knowledge of Project Management Information Systems such as Unifier and Document Control tools such as Project Wise
Knowledge of Project Management principles and skills
An Electrical Engineering background

Review engineering deliverables and initiate appropriate corrective actions. Review the engineering tasks and initiate the necessary corrective actions
Provide assistance and technical support to project managers and other project participants
