Position Summary:

Engineer, design, and develop a broad spectrum of engineering devices to sustain, improve, and expand the existing product lines. This will include working with control systems, human machine interfaces, various electronic and mechanical sensors, and wiring harnesses.

Essential Functions of the Job:

  • System level hardware integration development and support on both new and legacy products including control modules, I/O modules, user interfaces, sensors, radio control systems, and vehicle network interface.

  • Perform design analysis and calculations, system testing, and reports.

  • Investigate, specify, and select electrical components and create necessary documentation.

  • Develop and maintain harness and other component drawings, block diagrams, and schematics for subsystems and complete electrical systems.

  • Create and maintain engineering documentation using standard engineering practices.

  • Create and maintainbills of materials.

  • Participate in the ECO process and perform any related changes and essential documentation.

  • Collaborate with production team and vendors to produce designs that minimize labor and overall cost.

  • Provide technical support for production and service to help troubleshoot problems as needed.

  • Participate in process improvement projects to continually improve business practices.

  • Complete special projects as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA's):

  • Working knowledge of CAN Bus, CANopen, and J1939 vehicle networks is preferred.

  • Demonstrated ability to develop and detail 2D designs of complex systems.

  • High level of electro-mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.

  • The ability to self-motivate to meet project deadlines.

  • Highly organized.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Hands-on attitude and ability.

  • Disposition to work toward continuous design improvement.

  • Physically able to lift up to 40 lbs and climb a ladder

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent technical field necessary.

  • 2-5 years of relevant electrical design experience.

Working Conditions:

Primary working conditions will be office work with frequent daily activities in the manufacturing shop, and occasional activities working on equipment outdoors in any possible weather conditions.

Occasional travel to customer offices, shops, and worksites. Travel typically less than 5%.
