About the role

Seeking a key individual to join the team responsible for developing a huge decommissioned military facility into a pioneering research and development campus in Mountain View, CA. This exciting project features opportunities to work on critical facilities at an iconic location in Silicon Valley. This position will require the management of one or more projects.

What you'll do:

The project involves installation of electrical infrastructure, Electric Chargers for bus fleet, electrical systems, lead abatement, and TIs for a very outstanding and historically significant structure on a historically significant site. The desired candidate will have a proven track record working with internal and external team members to push forward with cost effective solutions and outcomes.

The Project Manager will supervise multiple consultants and contractors performing investigation, design development, coordination with multiple on-site agencies and organizations, permitting, construction and commissioning.

The candidate will be joining a fun, hard-working team of 11 consisting of project managers, a project controls manager, an environmental planner, project coordinators, and a dedicated construction field representative. The team has a culture of teamwork and support, therefore teammates with a positive, can-do attitude are desired.

What you'll need:

  • 3+ years of steadily growing professional experience. Ideally at least 2 of these years would be in a project management role representing the Owner.

  • A phenomenal colleague who brings out the best in teammates and keeps diverse collaborators working together toward project objectives.

  • Expertise in planning, prioritizing and driving design and construction of facilities with a project value over $5 million.

  • Background in Architecture, Engineering or Construction Management preffered.

  • Construction management, project management, or AIA licensure helpful.

  • Proven track record as a project manager with the ability to provide a mix of references from past supervisors and clients

  • Excellent verbal communication skills in both small and large groups

  • Effective written communication skills.

  • Demonstrated skill in effectively supervising project related teams.

  • Experience with design and construction, involving re-use of existing structures preferred.

  • Lead abatement project experience preferred

  • Experience in construction projects involving environmental contamination preferred.

  • Experience in successfully navigating multiple-agency permit approval processes.

  • Highly efficient and meticulous with excellent documentation and interpersonal skills.

  • Proficient in scheduling software such as Microsoft Project or SmartSheet

  • Deep understanding of all general building components including site elements, foundations, building core & shell, MEP, and T.I.s

  • Understanding of project budgets and cost management, able to determine forecasts in required costs, maintaining project invoicing and billings and able to generate high-level (ROM) estimates on scopes of work.

  • Understanding and experience with contract administration

  • Experience processing or coordinating construction submittals and RFI’s

  • Experience with past projects requiring approval by the State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO) preferred

  • Experience working with federal agencies such as the EPA, FAA, NASA, etc.

  • Is engaged and works with vitality

  • Is a self-motivated individual with a “can do” demeanor

  • Has strong active listening skills

EQUAL PAY DISCLAIMER

CBRE carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, including a candidate’s education, training, and experience. The minimum salary for the position is $140,000 annually and the maximum salary for the position is $150,000 annually. The compensation that is offered to a successful candidate will depend on the candidate’s skills, qualifications, and experience. Successful candidates will also be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on CBRE’s applicable benefit program.
