The Role
We are looking for a researcher who is passionate about making Gemini Models win the heart and mind of developers. We are motivated by the set of Capabilities we can build on top of Gemini models and externalize to the world.
Key responsibilities
Enable the Gemini API and AI Studio teams to have an understanding of user behavior within the products through deep analysis of usage logs
Develop and maintain logs infrastructure, including advocating for instrumentation, leveraging strong SQL and Python skills
Perform underlying research to inform metrics development and implement those metrics
Develop data visualization and tools to enable teammates to monitor metrics and user behaviors in a self-service way, such as dashboards, interactive notebooks, etc
Develop approaches to answer specific hypothesis, e.g. causal inference frameworks for observational data, possible A/B testing, etc
Communicate research findings in a compelling manner to a diverse set of stakeholders
About You

To ensure your success in this role you are someone who demonstrates the following abilities:
Minimum qualifications
You must meet these minimum qualifications to apply for this job
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology, Statistics, Economics, Neuroscience, or a related field
Experience with research design utilizing various methods
8+ years of experience within User Experience, Human-Computer Interaction, applied research setting, and/or product research and development.
Proficiency in SQL and Python
Expertise in developing ETL pipelines
Expertise in statistics and experimental design
Expertise in data viz techniques and tools.
Track record of communicating with cross-functional stakeholders of varying levels
Impeccable written and verbal communication
Practical experience in research communication to technical and non-technical audiences.
Track record demonstrating excellent command of research questions within a given domain, and of technical tools for the analysis of data within that field.
In addition, the following would be an advantage:
Having as many of these specific qualifications is a plus, but transferable skills/experiences may be equally valuable
10+ years of relevant work experience, especially with User Experience teams
Masters or PhD in Computer Science, Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology, Statistics, Economics, Neuroscience, or a related field
Very strong SQL and Python coding ability
Proficiency in programming computational and statistical algorithms for large data sets.
Prior experience on machine learning projects.
Experience in survey design and analysis, especially NLP analysis of open field responses
The US base salary range for this full-time position is between $168000 - $266000+ bonus + equity + benefits. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your targeted location during the hiring process.
