Pennsylvania State Job Bank Product and Process Development Engineer in Mount Pocono, Pennsylvania

Monadnock Non-Wovens (MNW) is actively seeking a Product and Process Development Engineer to join our rapidly growing facility in Mt. Pocono. Responsibilities:

  • Improve material properties of textiles, such as absorbency or durability.
  • Works closely with production teams to manage scale-up from pilot to full production.
  • Documents project work for reference and reporting purposes.
  • Conduct research on the properties and characteristics of materials.
  • Create and test materials and analyze results to determine their performance under different conditions.
  • Develop new materials and processes to meet specific product requirements.
  • Advise on material selection for product design, considering factors such as cost, lifespan, and environmental impact.
  • Work with production teams to implement new materials and processes in manufacturing.
  • Monitor material performance and evaluate material deterioration.
  • Communicate with suppliers, clients, and other professionals to stay updated on latest trends and developments.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and industry-specific regulations.
  • Prepare reports and present findings to stakeholders.
  • Conduct failure analysis and provide solutions to material-related problems.
  • Work with Quality team to investigate quality concerns and issues.
  • Conduct process/equipment/materials trials. Support experimental trials for product development, utilizing Design of Experiment methods.
  • Actively evaluate and address process deviations and significant shifts in targets or variations of output data.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives in quality, and productivity.
  • Support validations of processes and qualifications of equipment.

Requirements:

  • 5 years of relevant experience working in a manufacturing environment.
  • Degree in Polymer Science, Materials Science or Engineering (Chemical Preferred).
  • Must be available for call-in and/or on-call support.
  • Must be self-directed and a self-starter, capable of utilizing time efficiently.
  • Adaptable, responsible and accountable.
  • Experience with MS Office applications.
