Overhead Door Corporation Product Designer - Technical Services in Mount Hope, Ohio
Position Responsible for the support of customer quotes and orders by providing timely and accurate product documentation: Approval drawings, bills-of-material, manufacturing drawings, and design calculations. Prioritize and process Technical Services tasks to enable on-time delivery of customer quotes and orders. Identify gaps and opportunities in work processes, driving improvements to work methods and tools to capture efficiency gains.Qualifications
- Associate degree with technical focus preferred, or equivalent work experience.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD.
- Attention to detail is critical to success.
- Strong technical and math background.
- Experience with Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Ability to prioritize and multi-task. Resourceful.
- Solid communicator. Comfortable with in-person, phone, and written communication.
- Able to interpret and understand technically oriented material, blueprints, and door configuration rules.

- Create 2-dimensional Approval drawings in AutoCAD.
- Interpret routine and complex customer quotes and orders. Apply custom order detailing and manufacturing instructions.
- Prepare bills-of-material within the ERP system.
- Perform door weight, clearance, spring counterbalance, and door reaction loading calculations.
- Using system tools, prioritize and manage the timely completion of incoming tasks.
- Pro-actively communicate with Customer Care and internal support teams to resolve product configuration questions.
- Develop and improve tools and workflows to improve efficiency.
