Description and Requirements

The Lenovo Smart Collaboration Team is seeking a Portfolio Manager to join our Advanced Planning team. This role is focused on market research and analysis, technology and industry tracking, product definition, and long-term product planning. The successful candidate will be responsible for building a comprehensive technology and portfolio strategy that drives our product roadmap and aligns with industry trends and customer needs. A strong background in video technology is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Market Research & Analysis: Conduct in-depth market research to identify trends, customer needs, and competitive landscapes within the UC&C space, with a particular focus on video technology.

  • Technology and Industry Tracking: Monitor and analyze emerging technologies and industry developments to ensure our product portfolio remains at the forefront of the market.

  • Product Definition: Define product requirements and features based on market insights, customer feedback, and technological advancements. Collaborate with engineering, design, and marketing teams to bring these products to life.

  • Long-term Product Planning: Develop and execute a long-term product strategy that aligns with our business objectives and customer demands. This includes building a comprehensive technology and portfolio strategy that anticipates future market needs.

  • Portfolio Strategy: Lead the development of a robust portfolio strategy, ensuring a balanced mix of products that address both current and future market opportunities.

  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with various departments, including engineering, sales, marketing, and customer support, to ensure the successful execution of the product roadmap.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field

  • 3+ years experience in portfolio management, product management, or a similar role within the Unified Communications and Collaboration space.

  • Strong background in video technology, with a deep understanding of video conferencing systems, video processing, and related technologies.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA

  • Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to conduct market research, analyze data, and make informed strategic decisions.

  • Experience in technology and industry tracking, with a strong grasp of emerging trends and innovations in the UC&C market.

  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute long-term product and portfolio strategies.

  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams.

We are preferably seeking candidates already local to the Raleigh, NC area, home to our North America Headquarters but we are also open to this role being REMOTE in the US.

The base salary range budgeted for this position is $140-170K. Individuals may also be considered for bonus and/or commision.
