Delivery Driver/Warehouse Worker

Position Summary

The delivery driver is primarily responsible for driving company vehicles on planned routes (Philadelphia, Allentown, Reading, Harrisburg, York, Lancaster, Lebanon) to ensure deliveries are on time. Approximately 70% will be spent on deliveries and 30% on warehouse duties, such as shipping, receiving loading, unloading finished product and raw materials.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Fully understand how to operate and safely drive assigned delivery vehicle • Transport pallet goods and packages from place of origin to assigned destination • Ensure contents are properly secured inside of truck to prevent damage • Safely and efficiently handle and unload goods from truck • Obtain signatures and/or warehouse scans to confirm and complete deliveries • Assist warehouse staff and customers with loading and unloading processes • Map delivery routes to ensure timely deliveries • Confirm contents of each shipment matches Purchase Order documents • Perform inspections of company vehicle prior to and following each trip • Ensure company vehicle is kept clean • Notify managers of any major maintenance or delivery issues • Maintain detailed driving and delivery logs • Adhere to standard operating procedures (SOPs), and comply with DOT regulations • Obey all applicable traffic laws and drive according to the weather and road conditions • Schedule pick-ups and deliveries • Interface with office personnel regarding inventories and warehouse activities • Store items in an orderly and accessible manner in the warehouse • Perform basic quality control check • May be required to generate, print, and verify shipping documents • Professionally interact with customers, at all times • Perform other duties as assigned

Skills

• Ability to work independently with limited supervision • Excellent customer service • Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required • Basic working knowledge of computers and software • Operate motor vehicle and hand-trucks

Education

• High School Diploma or GED with 2-3 years of related work experience

Requirements

• Valid Driver's License and hold a clean driving record • Ability to complete and pass a DOT physical • Experience driving, maneuvering, and parking large van and truck • Experience using hand trucks and electric lifts • Previous delivery and warehouse experience is preferred • Proficient using GPS and other routing systems • Frequent lifting of materials and product up to 75 pounds • Wear safety equipment to include, but not limited to safety glasses, hearing protectors, work boots, and hardhat
