Colorado State Job Bank Payroll & Leave Management Specialist in Montrose, Colorado
POSITION: Payroll & Leave Management Specialist
This position performs human resources activities including leave management, employee relations, and payroll activities. This position is responsible for processing payroll to ensure pay is processed on time, accurately, and in compliance with government regulations and company policies.
DUTIES: * Process bi-weekly payroll including wage and overtime payments, calculations and recording of payroll deductions. * Monitor and verify timekeeping records, maintain time and attendance records using the electronic time management system. * Review payroll before finalizing to ensure accuracy. Prepare and transfer files for payroll direct deposits and checks. Prepare and transmit direct deposits. Maintain payroll documentation and files. * Complete Payroll Orientation and assist with onboarding, including entering new hire paperwork into iVUE and entering new hire benefit information into vendor websites. * Process payroll changes such as separations, department transfers, benefit and PTO/leave accruals and updates, pay increases, garnishments, benefit premium adjustments, FSA/125 plan, and other miscellaneous payroll/personnel-related changes. * Input employees' W-4 tax elections and annually update tax tables. Prepare and distribute annual W-2s and 1095-Cs to employees. * Prepare and transmit payroll reports, such as quarterly Payroll 941, unemployment tax, Workers Compensation report, RS pension, etc. to State and/or Federal agencies.

REQUIREMENTS: * A bachelor's degree from an accredited college in Human Resources, Business Administration, Public Administration or a closely related area of study. * A minimum of three (3) years of payroll, accounting and/or human resources experience * Demonstrated abilities should include office organization, attention to detail, critical thinking and reasoning, ability to prioritize and multi-task, ability to maintain confidentiality. * Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Personal computer experience required including proficiency using Microsoft Office products. * Must maintain a valid driver's license.

WAGE: $70,000 - $107,000 per year - Depending on experience.
BENEFITS: Full benefit package including medical, dental, vision, PTO, STD/LTD, life insurance, and 401k retirement. Retirement includes 8% base salary contribution and additional 4.5% match
SHIFTS: Full-time - 40 hours per week
