Ventower Industries Maintenance Technician in Monroe, Michigan

Maintenance Technician Position Summary: Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Technician is primarily responsible for maintaining and repairing production equipment and supporting basic facilities maintenance. The incumbent must be able to analyze and execute repairs, problem solve and develop/build custom equipment as necessary to support production fabrications. This person is expected to perform with limited supervision, be flexible and prioritize activities, and possess an uncompromising commitment to safety.  Duties And Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To The Following: • Inspect, troubleshoot, repair and/or replace mechanical components on industrial equipment. • Work with production to complete preventative maintenance duties. • Diagnose problems and use manuals and schematics to identify necessary repairs. • Build, fabricate, and repair parts & mechanical fixtures. • Document and communicate part information, service hours, and repair hour estimations. • Maintain equipment; anticipate and communicate spare part and consumable needs. • Install or assist in the installation of new equipment, including proper layout and alignment. • Ensure a safe and clean work environment including appropriate disposal of parts and lubricants in accordance with established safety and environmental procedures. • Fill out basic written reports on jobs, including labor hours, parts used, and repair(s) executed and use applicable databases and spreadsheets. • Other duties as assigned. Requirements: • Mechanically inclined with basic electrical knowledge and ability to program VFDs. • Knowledge of heavy equipment, overhead crane, and rigging principles. • Able to read, interpret and understand blueprints, manuals, and assembly directions. • Proficient communication skills • Must be able to perform physically demanding work, such as climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, twisting, and bending for extended periods of time. Qualifications: • High school diploma or Government Equivalency Diploma (GED). • 2-5 Years' experience in manufacturing and/or industrial maintenance.
