Sea Fox Boat Company is an industry leading, saltwater fishing boat manufacturer who is looking for a Supervisor who can run our Capping or Assembly departments.
JOB SUMMARY
A Production Supervisor will oversee departmental leads and the quality of work performed by their departments. Sea Fox is looking for a Capping Supervisor and Assembly Supervisor to begin work immediately.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Trains, and manages production employees on assigned shift/line.
Organizes, and oversees the daily workflow and assignments of the production shift/line.
Provide constructive and timely performance evaluations.
Ensures timecards and payroll information is entered in a timely and accurate manner.
Handles discipline and termination of employees as needed and in accordance and cooperation with HR and company policy.
KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Oversees production operations on assigned shift.
Prepares work schedules to ensure efficient operations.
Maintains knowledge of processes and equipment.
Troubleshoots issues that arise.
Notifies maintenance department and relevant management of equipment problems.
Ensures that employees comply with safety regulations, policies, and procedures.
Ensures department has appropriate staff to meet objectives and production schedules/deadlines.
Inform production planning and relevant management of any issues or obstacles causing delays.
Regularly inspects and evaluates products for quality defects.
Ensures any/all necessary paperwork is completed in a timely and efficient manner.
Performs other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES
Have a good understanding of or the ability to quickly learn production operations and machinery.
Excellent supervisory and leadership skills.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when and where appropriate.
Thorough understanding of operations policies and practices as well as Sea Fox mission/vision.
Ability to communicate effectively across multiple teams and with multiple departments.
Experience in rigging and capping or assembly is required. Minimum 3 years’ experience.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
Prolonged periods of standing and walking through the factory.
Visual acuity to inspect products and machinery.
Requires lifting, standing, kneeling, bending – getting in and out of boats up to 8 hours per day.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This job operates in a manufacturing plant environment and requires exposure to chemicals, tools and hazards associated with applicable area/line. The production area is not air conditioned and requires working during hot weather. Requires ability to work in high temperatures during summer months along with increased humidity as well as cold temperatures in the winter months.
