Primary Function:
Overhauls, dismantles, inspects, installs, builds, modifies, adjusts and makes general repairs to machines, machine tools, and mechanical equipment which requires accurate alignment and fitting to close limits.
Types of Machines, Tools and Equipment Used or Operated:
Standard maintenance tools, precision measuring instruments, machines, machine tools, and equipment such as grinders, lathes, planers, shapers, drill presses, block and tackle, hoists, cranes, jacks and rollers, scissor lifts and boom lifts. Computer applications such as Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook, Internet Explorer and Microsoft Excel.
Job Details:
Receives general instructions from supervisor.
Work is not closely supervised.
Maintains a safe work environment.
Works from written or verbal instructions, detailed drawings, prints, sketches, and manufacturer’s manuals.
Plans work sequence and obtains necessary tools and equipment to perform work.
Overhauls, dismantles, inspects, installs, builds, modifies, adjusts and makes general repairs to machines, machine tools, and mechanical equipment which requires accurate alignment and fitting to close limits.
Performs inspection, reports condition and keeps records of necessary repairs and adjustments.
Work is performed on machines, machine tools and mechanical equipment such as ventilating, and powered conveyor equipment.
Operates various departmental machines and machine tools to make parts as required. Lays out and fabricates sheet metal parts.
Builds and installs rack, conveyors, fixtures, guards and shields.
Repairs, modifies and completely overhauls by dismantling, reworking or replacing worn and broken parts and installing new or repaired parts. Performs fitting, scraping and adjusting as required to obtain proper alignment and tolerance.
Attaches, aligns and fits gears, shafts, pulleys, bearings, motors and controls on machines, machine tools and mechanical equipment.
Repairs and installs pumps, compressors, hydraulics, pneumatics, gages, controllers, lines, traps and filters.
Unloads, dismantles, transports and installs machines, machine tools and mechanical equipment as required.
May assist in the preparation of foundations for machines, machine tools and mechanical equipment.
Performs welding, heating and brazing as required in the performance of above duties.
Lubricates equipment installed, rebuilt and/or repaired.
Instructs other workers who may be assigned to assist in the performance of above duties.
Cleans equipment, cleans work area and performs other miscellaneous duties inherent to the job.
Capable of working at heights from ladders, boom lifts and scissor lifts.
Maintain a 5S compliant work environment.
May also perform such duties as the following in addition to the duties listed above.
Additional Information:
Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test.
This position requires a valid Driver’s License.
This position will require the ability to obtain a security access badge at our client’s location.
This position may require various shifts, weekends, and alternative work schedules.
Must be able to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
Physical/Special Requirements:
Flexibility to bend/stoop, squat repetitive during shift.
Move in a 90-degree fashion on a repetitive basis for shift.
Stretch/reach on a repetitive basis for shift.
Walk extensively throughout the plant during shift.
Differentiate colors pertaining to wire color-coding.
Interact with all clients in a professional and friendly manner despite periods of stress.
Wear steel toe, metatarsal safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, hard hat and other Personal Protective Equipment as needed.
Cope with demands (stressors) that are associated with the job and/or the work environment so that acceptable levels of performance and overall contribution are maintained.
Some tasks will require repetitive wrist movement.
Preferred Qualifications:
Must have strong mechanical aptitude and a high sense of responsibility
Extensive Commercial mechanical equipment experience
Experience in troubleshooting Heating/Ventilation/Air Conditioning systems
BAS and Microsoft Office experience is preferred
