Accounting Clerk - Full Time Department: Accounting Department Hours: Monday Friday 8am to 5pm (approximately 40 hours per week) with a one-hour lunch 12pm - 1pm Supervisor: Finance Manager

We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounting Clerk to join our team and ensure timely and accurate payment of all vendor and supplier invoices.

Description: You will be responsible for processing, verifying, and reconciling invoices received from vendors and suppliers. You will play a key role in maintaining the financial health of our company by ensuring that all payments are made accurately and on time. You will communicate with various departments to resolve any discrepancies or issues related to invoices and payments. Obtains financial data for use in maintaining accounting records. Makes copies of bills and distributes to proper departments. Enters, edits, posts and reconciles bills for the day. Applies appropriate accounts payable (general ledger) codes to bills. Types vouchers, invoices, checks, account statements, reports, and other records. Files Accounts Payable records daily along with other necessary filing. Prepares accounts payable checks by processing and running checks on a weekly basis. Maintain records for all accounts payable transactions. Prints and prepares accounts payable reports and maintains all accounts payable files. Verifies and reconciles statements. Prepares invoice deduction notices, as necessary. Requests refunds or credits on over pricing or shortages. Assists with monthly and year-end close out procedures and records. Must be able to work at 6am on the first business day of the month to assist with month-end closing activities. Assists with customer phone calls and requests (Customers asking for invoice copies, signed deliveries, information in regard to their account, etc. generally, 5-6 per day). Input customer payments and assists with petty cash transactions. Establish customer accounts once verification of references is completed along with necessary tax documentation. Assists Finance Manager with daily functions and accepts additional responsibilities as needed and assist Accounting department with special projects, as necessary. Will be cross trained to serve as backup to Accounts Receivable Clerk, Collections Clerk and Finance Manager. Must be able to work in a team environment as well as independently, making immediate decisions and setting and meeting goals. Must have reliable transportation.

Qualifications: Associate's in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Proficient computer skills are essential (i.e. word processing / data entry (60 70 wpm), Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)). Accounting Computer Knowledge &Accounts Payable experience is preferred. Candidate must be detail oriented and possess excellent communication and organization skills. Must be flexible, organized and possess excellent phone communication skills. Diplomacy and professionalism are required in dealing with customers especially when discussing finances.

Pay: $15.50 - $17.00/hour based on experience.
