Insight Global Assistant Controller in Modesto, California
Job Description
One of Insight Global's top manufacturing clients is looking to add an Assistant Controller to their Finance team. This role is responsible for managing a team of AP & AR specialists, monthly accounting close outs, balance sheets, processing electronic payments and overseeing audits. This person will need to have great communication skills as they will be interfacing with C-level individuals.
Maintain proper documentation of accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls as well as fixed asset schedules to reduce risk and ensure compliance.
Prepare ASC 842 Lease Accounting entries, update Lease Accounting software, and prepare audit schedules.
Manage the accounts payable process
Lead the weekly AP payment process, including cash requirements preparation, check runs, and electronic payment processing.
Oversee the accounts receivable function.
Supervise the preparation of audit documentation.
Prepare period-end close journal entries as assigned.
Oversee the period-end Balance Sheet account reconciliation.
Ensure compliance with GAAP.
Provide ad hoc financial analysis and reporting to support business decisions, including product costing, margin analysis, and operational KPIs.

Skills and Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or similar field
7-12 years of accounting experience, preferably within manufacturing sector
4-6 years of leadership experience managing accounting/finance teams.
Extensive knowledge of period-end close, GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel -- V-lookup, X-lookup and Pivot Tables
Experience working with external auditors and preparing audit documentation. - CPA or CMA Certification null
