Work as part of team that includes Cancer and Blood Disorder physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, nursing, social work, physical therapy, nutrition, child life, clinic assistants and researchers. The department at Children's of Minnesota provides care for children of all ages with all types of malignancies including brain tumors, solid tumors, and leukemia; and blood disorders such as sickle cell disease, bleeding disorders, and anemia. As the largest provider of services for children with cancer and bleeding disorders in the region, the Cancer and Blood Disorders program focuses on providing well-coordinated knowledge-driven clinical care. We participate in national and international research and are leaders in research on supportive care and quality of life for children with cancer and bleeding disorders. Position Summary The primary responsibility of the Clinical Research Associate I (CRA I) is support of the research team in the conduct of department research projects. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: * Perform study startup, implementation, and closeout activities * Assist research team with coordination and entry of research data * Assist with regulatory submissions to the Institutional Review Board, and maintain compliance with all federal and local agencies in accordance with Good Clinical Practice guidelines * Interact with patients and families for securing informed consent, scheduling research visits, and collection of data * Maintain documentation for regulatory binder, adverse event reporting, and communications between sponsors and sites * Other special skills specific to assigned research area may include phlebotomy, sample collection, processing or shipping, ECGs, chart abstraction or other duties as assigned * Manage personal career development and administrative tasks (Remote work available to MN and WI residents only) Baccalaureate degree or at least 4 years relevant clinical research, professional experience. Candidates must have: * High attention to detail with strong written and oral communication skills * Strong computer skills beyond basic familiarity with the most common hardware and software systems * Have the ability to assist staff working on multiple projects * Have experience working with pediatric populations (preferred) Promotion to next higher level, typically CRA II, is determined by the Clinical Research Program Manager through performance reviews that take into account both experience carrying out the department's job-related duties/tasks, as well as a demonstrated commitment to professionalism in carrying out those tasks in line with Children's values and organizational policies and procedures. We carefully consider a wide range of factors including but not limited to market indicators for the specific role, the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate, and organizational needs. Base pay is just one piece of the total rewards program offered by Children's Minnesota.
