Description: The Division of Epidemiology and Community Health Promotion in the School of Public Health at the University of Minnesota seeks a Temporary (through 7/27/2025) HIV Education Coordinator (80-100% time) for the Midwest AIDS Training and Education Center (MATEC), Minnesota and Iowa site. This position is 90% distance-based (remote), 10% in-person, and has a possibility of extension, pending grant support and satisfactory performance. The Midwest AIDS Training and Education Center is a federally-funded training center, providing AIDS and HIV clinical training and support to health care professionals. MATEC has built connections with the top HIV clinicians and researchers in our region to offer health care professionals targeted training and direct access to expert information. We seek to improve workforce capacity for the HIV healthcare professionals in Minnesota and Iowa, and by doing so, improving care for people living with HIV. We are part of a national network of AIDS Education and Training Centers, serving all states and territories and including four supporting national centers. Duties/Responsibilities Project Management 75% Serve as main point of contact and support one to two grant-funded projects. Work includes: Identify, plan, and facilitate with team-lead support: individual and group educational opportunities for health care and social service providers. These activities could include: didactic trainings, interactive trainings, webinars, clinical preceptorships, technical assistance, consultations, and case presentations Work closely with project leadership and team members including the director, project managers and clinical advisors and faculty to design, revise, implement, expand, adapt, evaluate, report, and disseminate tailored workforce development programming for healthcare professionals Position will conduct day-to-day and overall management of the projects with the intent to meet project goals and maintain excellent working relationships with stakeholders Project Support 10% Support projects in Iowa and Minnesota. Work includes: Attend virtual meetings and taking notes Lead/assist in preparation of training materials Lead/assist in preparation of materials for clinics (such as policies/procedures) Supporting colleagues on other projects as needed Other grant requirements as assigned: reporting, data entry, grant writing, etc. Administrative 10% Grant reporting, project tracking, needs assessments, evaluation, accounting paperwork, data entry/maintenance, etc. Travel 5% Travel as needed for in-person meetings and trainings. Potential for supervision 0-10% Potential for future staff supervision as we expand the project and take on student workers, part time workers, and others who will support this work. Position expected to take on minimal supervision duties if/when such part time workers are hired. Compensation: $31.25 - $34.62/hour, depending on experience. Please note: this position will be serving projects in Iowa and Minnesota. All program staff work remotely and travel to in-person training events and meetings. Qualifications All required qualific tions must be included in the application materials Required: BA/BS plus at least 4 years of experience or advanced degree plus 2 years of experience or a combination of related education and work experience to equal eight years Excellent interpersonal skills; demonstrated ability to work independently and as a part of a team Comfort with and sensitivity to working with many cultures and communities including people living with HIV, youth, men who have sex with men, native populations, rural populations, etc. Ability to facilitate group discussions and prepare logistics for training events Innovative perspective with competency in problem solving Professional communication style, with excellent written and oral communication skills Ability to multi-task and handle multiple ongoing projects Competency in basic computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite, Google drive, Qualtrics/other survey design software, Zoom, Asana, and other virtual meeting platforms, apps, etc.). Part of the application process may require testing competency in these computer skills. Personal cell phone that can be used as needed for work purposes Ability to maintain a somewhat flexible work schedule, including occasional evening and weekend hours to meet the program participant needs and availability Valid driver's license and personal vehicle to be used for work purposes (project will reimburse for gas/mileage) Preferred: MPH or Masters Degree in a similar field Experience with grant-based employment such as developing and following work plans, reporting requirements, and federal financial policies and procedures Comfortable communicating with administrative leadership, clinical leadership, and all health care providers and staff on a clinical team Previous experience with remote project management related to infectious disease or HIV/AIDS Ideal candidates will have experience in curriculum development and the process of revision of project materials and approaches in response to changing clinical guidelines and the healthcare environment Are you excited about this job and meet the required qualifications, but your past experience doesn't align perfectly with every preferred qualification?
