Robert Half Plant Controller in Minneapolis, Minnesota
Description We are searching for a diligent and analytical Plant Controller to join our team in Minneapolis, Minnesota. This role is integral to the company's operations, serving as a business partner to plant site managers while maintaining strong communication with corporate finance and operations.
Responsibilities:
• Analyze production variances, identify opportunities, and develop corrective action plans
• Develop budgets and periodic forecasts, from volume forecasts to the development of standard product costing by SKU
• Maintain a robust internal control environment, with a focus on inventory integrity of raw materials, packaging, intermediates, finished goods, and fixed assets
• Drive productivity improvements within the supply chain
• Support accurate and complete physical inventory processes, including continual cycle counts, variance reconciliation, and corrective action
• Provide professional financial expertise to operations and finance teams at both corporate and field locations
• Lead plant management through monthly plant P& L review
• Collaborate with corporate cost analysts in assembling necessary operations information to evaluate new or existing product SKUs and develop standard product costings
• Maintain complete, organized, and accurate systems records for areas of responsibilities such as budget data, item costing, forecast data, and performance metrics
• Develop and maintain standards and related cost systems
• Monitor and review ERP and Accounting Functions systems for variances and discrepancies
• Support food safety programs, quality standards, and legality of manufactured products
Please note that this role requires the ability to work cross-functionally, convey complex issues, and maintain confidentiality. The successful candidate will be self-motivated, goal-oriented, quality-driven, and capable of working independently with minimal supervision. Requirements
• Candidate must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role such as Plant Controller or manufacturing Controller.
• Proficiency in CapEx is ideal
• Familiarity with ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems is a key requirement. SAP a plus.
• The candidate should be adept in handling various accounting functions.
• The candidate must have experience in executing budget processes.
• The candidate should have excellent interpersonal and leadership skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are needed.
• The candidate should have outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
• The candidate should be able to work independently and make decisions under pressure.
• Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) is required.
• The candidate should have a strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• The candidate should be able to meet deadlines and manage priorities effectively.
• A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field is required.
• The candidate should display a high level of professional and ethical conduct.
