The position is expected to work 14 hours per week. Pate: $17.50 Primary Function: This position is responsible for building the mobile makerspace in the Toaster Innovation Hub. This work is done under the direction and supervision of EOCP staff. Responsibilities: * Build the mobile makerspace as layout in the design plans * Troubleshoot and adapt design to ensure the mobile makerspace meets the needs of the team * Utilize makerspace tools and equipment to complete the project build * Determine necessary supplies needed to complete the build Note: The position is Minneapolis-based. Staff must be able to commute to the UMN-TC campus. Qualifications Required: High School diploma or equivalent * Experience in designing, prototyping, and building physical objects * Experience with design software such as Sketchup or Inkscape * Experience with fabrication tools such as laser cutters, milling, 3D printers * Experience reading and developing build plans * Strong organizational skills Preferred: * Familiarity with makerspaces around campus * Ability to make independent decisions Benefits As an employee in a Temporary and/or Casual appointment is not eligible for Retirement plans; health insurance benefits; vacation; sick leave; OR Regents Tuition Benefit Program.
