The ideal candidate will have a strong background in research administration, budget creation & management, financial expertise, excellent organizational skills and the ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders. This position offers a dynamic and collaborative work environment with opportunities for program building. Job Duties/Responsibilities: 25% Clinical Trials Budget Analyst * Work closely with Neurology faculty, research managers, project managers, and clinical coordinators to develop clinical trial budgets, negotiate contracts, and provide financial guidance & council. * Negotiate, analyze, recommend, and regularly review the financial components of a clinical trial. Allowing the principal investigator and research team to adjust proactively before issues arrive. 30% Grants and Contracts Generalist * Work on both pre-award and post-award activities across proposals, program development, budget creation, contract negotiations, financial administration, and reporting and compliance. * Assist faculty in the development of proposals. * Provide guidance and counsel on budgets, spending, and approvals. * Cultivate relationships with sources of outside funding or research supporting funding needs or opportunities. * Manage post-award regulatory hurdles including MTA, BAA, and other agreements by cultivating relationships and liaising with key stakeholders. Responsible for clear communication and timely follow-up on these documents. 35% Research Special Projects * Work with the Director of Research in special projects that support the Department's strategic goals. * Engage in program-building and development initiatives to enhance research capabilities and resources. * Provide analytical support and conduct research to inform project planning and decision-making. 10% Department Administration * Perform ad hoc administrative duties to support the efficient operation of Departmental research * Assist with scheduling, meeting coordination and office management * Provide administrative support to department leadership as needed Qualifications Required Qualifications: o Bachelor's degree in a related field plus at least six (6) years of experience. o Years of experience to include a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in research administration or a related field. o Strong understanding of grant and contract administration processes. o Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. o Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment. o Proficiency with research administration software and Microsoft Office Suite.
