Fairview Health Services Associate Project Manager in MINNEAPOLIS, Minnesota

Overview

Fairview Health Services is hiring a full time remote Associate Project Manager for our Transformation Office!

As a professional member of the Transformation Office, the Associate Project Manager will provide administrative and project support for small-medium scale projects and/or certain phases of large-scale projects with the direction of business owners, project managers, and Portfolio Directors (as applicable to the project). Responsibilities include learning and managing the day-to-day operational and tactical tasks associated with projects. The Associate Project Manager maintains project documentation, tracks project milestones & deadlines, communicates project updates to appropriate stakeholders, and coordinates project resources.

Schedule: This position will be working 1.0 FTE (80 hours every two weeks). The shift length will be 8 long during daytime business hours.

Responsibilities Job Description

  • Deliver small-scale, simple to moderately complex projects through effective management of schedule, scope, and quality. Accountable for supporting the overall project or phases of a larger project, including communications; milestone tracking; resource planning; escalation and resolution of critical issues to project sponsors/owners.

  • Communicate assignments and expectations to project team members and track completion of project deliverables to ensure quality and integrity of all project-related products. Oversee project timeline and provide general direction and support to project resources to ensure timely delivery of commitments/tasks by assigned deadlines.

  • Assist in developing comprehensive project plans that incorporate deliverables, resource plans, milestones, accountabilities, communication plans and timelines. Ensure appropriate testing and quality reviews are conducted and receive sign-off. Monitor project progress and report performance against plan

  • Provide regular status reporting on plan progress and ensure all department standards are followed. Assist in documenting, routing, and tracking project-related requests. Coordinate the closing out of all project documentation. Develop summaries for reporting to project leadership and business partners. Understand the project phases, tasks, activities, and operations and answer questions about the project status.

  • Develop working knowledge in all systems, processes and data relating to the assigned business or projects.

  • Serves as a thought partner and adviser to project owners/key system leaders

  • Leverages and applies knowledge of and experience with healthcare best practices and industry trends in innovation

  • Perform timely and accurate work.

  • Develops, refines, and scopes idea submissions according to intake requirements to create a pipeline for the Transformation Office

  • Engages with operational leaders and other subject matter experts in the earliest phase of the project lifecycle to foster ideation across the enterprise as a means to build a pipeline of items ready for intake and formal adoption as a project within the Transformation Office

  • Assesses high-level operational improvements and identifies applicable key performance indicators

  • Presents standard materials and best practices to audiences across the enterprise to inform, educate and solicit engagement in enterprise ideation

  • Coordinates with other stakeholders in the Transformation Office to usher ideas through standard processes to support their maturity

  • Engages in closed loop communication efforts to provide timely feedback and rational on all ideas submitted

  • Serves as point of contact for and facilitator of project management light services offered by the Transformation Office

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in work-related field/discipline from an accredited college or university. In lieu of degree, equivalent combination of education and experience required.

  • 1-2 years in a project associate or project management role

  • Demonstrated experience running a project or program from concept to completion

  • Effective communication experience working with internal, external, and cross-functional teams

  • Demonstrated ability to learn new tools and use information technology to drive cross functional strategic projects

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong analytic and problem-solving skills

  • Knowledge of data collection, manipulation, interpretation, and presentation of information in a persuasive and understandable manner

  • Experience managing project plans, schedules, test plans, and resources

  • Strong knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of tools

  • Possess positive interpersonal skills, and ability to work comfortably with staff, leaders, and physicians at all levels of the organization

  • Ability to work effectively as a team player

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a highly matrixed organization

  • Experience working on projects in a complex health care system
