FTE: 1.00000 This will be a split shift, with 0.5 FTE as a Coordinator and 0.5 FTE as a Surgical Technologist Level 3. (V/T POD) Shift: Shift 1 4 x 10-hour shifts Job Summary: In partnership with unit leadership, is responsible for the effective and efficient leadership of the assigned surgical service(s). Participates in decision making and problem solving to assure high quality patient care and surgeon satisfaction. Demonstrates organizing and coordinating skills. As an advanced practitioner demonstrates superior knowledge and expert practice while actively working in surgical procedures during their scheduled work hours. Serves as a role model. Assists the Surgeon, RN and the Anesthesiologist in the care of patients in the Operating Room. Assists in evaluation and acquisition of surgical equipment, instruments and supplies. Other duties as assigned. Other information: EXPERIENCE DESCRIPTION: A minimum of 3 years Surgical Technologist experience is required. EDUCATION DESCRIPTION: High School Diploma or equivalent is required. SPECIAL SKILLS DESCRIPTION: Demonstrates advanced knowledge and skills in major operative surgical specialties is required. Demonstrates advanced knowledge of anatomy, physiology and potential complications for procedures performed is required. Expert knowledge of specialty instruments and equipment is required. LICENSURE DESCRIPTION: American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or an AHA approved equivalent is required. Completion of an accredited (CAAHEP) Surgical Technologist program is required. Surgical Technologist Level 3 staff, or above, with a date of hire or adjusted date of hire prior to 8/1/2020 are not required to be certified, as long as they meet the criteria in the job description.
