If so, The Pfister is looking for a Cook I to be a part of our team and continue its iconic legacy. As a Cook I at The Pfister Hotel, you will be responsible for following all instructions assigned by Chefs and ensure all duties assigned are carried out. This role will also prepare and cook all food items according to menus, expedite orders quickly and correctly as ordered, and ensure junior members of team are performing duties to standards and specifications. Built in 1893, The Pfister Hotel in Milwaukee has been a hotel icon for nearly 130 years. As one of the best hotels in Milwaukee and the Midwest, we continue to celebrate a grand tradition of gracious service and impeccable style. The Pfister Hotel has received AAA Four Diamond hotel status for 46 consecutive years. The hotel is one of only 11 properties throughout North America to maintain the AAA Four Diamond designation since the inception of the Diamond Rating program in 1976. What you will be doing: Prepare station-specific food items according to recipes, ensuring consistency and quality. Monitor product storage, portion sizes, and special items like stocks and sauces. Maintain cleanliness and organization in all areas to meet Health Department regulations. Ensure equipment is clean, sanitized, and operational. Uphold high standards of food production and presentation. Maintain personal hygiene and sanitation practices. Manage station setup, breakdown, and prep work. Follow recipe specifications for all food preparation. What we are looking for: 2 years of pastry or baking experience strongly preferred, preferably in a hotel, resort, high-end restaurant, or bakery setting. Formal culinary training is a plus (degree or certification preferred) High school diploma or GED equivalent. Knowledge of proper knife handling, techniques, and cooking procedures. Knowledge of basic prep functions (i.e. scaling, mise en place) Knowledge and basic comprehension of the English language. Sufficient knowledge of operation for all kitchen equipment, i.e., scales, mixers, ovens, etc. Ability to lift, push, or pull weights up to 100 pounds. Ability to stand for long periods, work in a confined space with high levels of noise and frequent interruptions, and perform duties within extreme temperature ranges. Ability to obtain any local, state or federal license or certification for sanitation, liquor service, or food service certification. Must join H.E.R.E. Local 122 union. What\'s in it for you?
