Claims Associate - Recovery

PRIMARY PURPOSE: To identify and pursue auto/rental subrogation recoveries both contractual and third-party liability as it relates to vehicle damage claims.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provides prompt subrogation and recovery investigation, evaluation and settlement of claims.

• Conducts verbal and written communication with insurance carriers, attorneys, state/local governments, internal/external departments, credit card companies, company vendors, renters and all responsible parties.

• Utilizes knowledge of insurance and negligence to negotiate fault with adverse parties in cases of disputed liability.

• Negotiates loss recovery settlements with adverse parties in compliance with state laws, fair claims practices and within client guidelines in a variety of states.

• Orders police reports, locates and verifies insurance policy information, obtains credit reports and utilizes skip tracing procedures as needed.

• Maintains a timely diary of all pending files while working in unison in E-Subro Hub.

• Refers to alternative methods of recovery when and if appropriate (i.e., arbitration, collections, litigation).

ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES

• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Supports the organization's quality program(s).

QUALIFICATIONS

Education & Licensing

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university preferred.

Experience

Three (3) years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required.

Skills & Knowledge

• Thorough knowledge of claims management processes and procedures

• PC literate, including Microsoft Office products

• Strong organizational skills

• Excellent interpersonal skills

• Oral and written communication skills

• Good negotiating skills

• Ability to work in a team environment

• Ability to meet or exceed Performance Competencies

Pay Transparency

As required by law, Sedgwick provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in jurisdictions requiring pay transparency in job postings. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide range of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and cost of specific location. For the jurisdiction noted in this job posting only, the range of starting pay for this role is $50,610.00. A comprehensive benefits package is offered including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, 401k and matching, PTO, disability and life insurance, employee assistance, flexible spending or health savings account, and other additional voluntary benefits.
