SUMMARY: The Vantage Healthcare & Rehab at Milford is seeking to fill a full-time DIRECTOR OF MAINTENANCE position for first shift; 40 hrs./wk. who will plan, organize, develop, and direct the overall operation of the Maintenance Department in accordance with current federal, state and local standards, guidelines, and regulations governing the facility, and as may be directed by the Administrator, to assure that the facility is maintained in a safe and comfortable manner. DUTIES: \ Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct the Maintenance Department, its programs and activities \ Develop and maintain written maintenance policies and procedures \ Develop and maintain written job descriptions for each level of maintenance personnel in accordance with pertinent laws and regulations \ Make written oral reports/recommendations to the Administrator as necessary/required concerning the operation of the Maintenance Department \ Assist in establishing a preventative maintenance program \ Assist the Infection Control Coordinator in identifying, evaluating, and classifying routine and job-related maintenance functions to ensure that tasks involving the potential exposure to blood/body fluids are properly identified and recorded \ Review and develop a plan of correction for maintenance deficiencies noted during survey inspections and provide a written copy of such to the Administrator \ Ensure that appropriate personal protective equipment used in the handling of infectious materials is available and easily accessible to maintenance personnel \ Required to be on-call for nights/weekends and/or for emergency situations as defined by company policy \ Perform other duties as assigned REQUIREMENTS: \ High School Diploma/GED \ Valid Driver License \ Must have 3 yrs. experience in a supervisory capacity, in a maintenance/plant related position, preferably in a health-care setting \ Must be knowledgeable of boilers, compressors, generators, etc., as well as various mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems \ Must have the ability to read and interpret blueprints \ Must be knowledgeable of building codes and safety regulations \ Applicants must meet the general health requirements set forth by the policies of the facility, which include a medical and physical examination \ Must be able to relate to and work with ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and, at times, hostile people within the facility \ Must be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 25 lbs.to a minimum height of 5 feet and be able to push, pull, move, and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of 50 ft. and may be necessary to assist in the evacuation of residents during emergency situations \ Must be able to pass CORI check
